Religious Paradox...

In a conversation with someone about religion, I thought that it is hugely ironic that Christianity teaches you to give and serve with and ask nothing in return. This is quite untrue. You give and serve so you can go to heaven in return, otherwise you're just a sinner like all everyone else and you'll burn in hell. So much for being generous...

In Christianity, going to heaven is not tied to giving and serving.

Going to heaven is simply a gift from Christ. The gift is received by acknowledging that you're a sinner and believing that Christ died for you to save you from hell. Giving and serving should be natural byproducts of being a Christian.
